History Comes Alive Through Theatre!
Bobby commemorates both Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday and the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. This lively theatrical production explores a crucial and fascinating era in American History.
Portraying a freed slave named Jacob (around 1865), Bobby uses first person narratives, poetry, and song to highlight the key players, events, and political forces that brought ordinary men and women into extraordinary circumstances. Lincoln, who was elected our 16th President shortly before the outbreak of the Civil War, and assassinated at its conclusion, is a central figure in this dramatic portrayal of our nation's struggle to find a unified identity.
This high energy program is ideal for both special community events and grades 3rd -12th. It includes educational themes such as U.S. history, literature, music, theatre, public speaking, cultural diversity, and character education.
