Rhythms, Rhymes, & Raps
Kids discover the joy of poetry through a rollicking multicultural tour of raps and traditional verse.
Using selections from favorite authors (including, possibly, Dr. Seuss, Shel Silverstein, and Jack Prelutsky), Bobby makes poetry exciting and fun for the younger kids using zany vocal effects, lively animation, and loads of humor. With comical and creative rap, he turns traditional stories such as Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Billy’s Goat’s Gruff into finger-snapping, toe-tapping verse.
With prior arrangement, Bobby can perform pieces of your choice, such as Suess favorites Horton Hatches the Egg, The Big Brag, or Yertle the Turtle. Alternatively, Bobby, a published children’s author with five award-winning books, can bring to life excerpts from his own work. (This is your opportunity to bring in your own real life author!)
Bobby also offers a program for older students (Rap, Poetry and Prose) that includes classics from the Harlem Renaissance.
